"Convention" — Limited Edition Monochrome Print
$75.00
About the Artwork Captured within the sweeping architecture of the David Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, "Convention" transforms a modern civic space into a vast, mechanical stage.
The image utilizes stark, black-and-white silhouette and high-contrast forms to chart a journey through a massive machine-scape. Winding structural paths and industrial geometry guide the eye toward a central platform, where a solitary, anonymous figure moves through the environment. The composition carries a dreamy, whimsical, storybook atmosphere, while simultaneously echoing the dark, biomechanical textures of H.R. Giger.
The title itself operates as a play on words. While it literalizes the convention center setting, it also speaks to the "conventions" of modern existence—the shared, structured nexus points where individual lives and daily activities intersect, briefly sharing a stage before moving on.
